Holiday Schedule
On Friday, December 23rd, we will host ONE service for our Christmas Celebration from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.
Our office will be closed from December 24th- 31st in observance of the holiday week.
On January 1st, 2023, there will be ONE service at 10:30 am.

Angel Tree
If you would like to partner with Petra's Closet by choosing a Christmas angel, please pick one (or more) from the tree located in the lobby. Each angel would love either a gift card or real presents, it's up to you.  Please try not to spend more than $150 per angel. If you are a bargain shopper, please include 1 or 2 items from each category. The Petra's Closet team knows things are expensive, and you want to buy nice things for your angel, but they want to be fair to all the children by spending about the same dollar value on each angel.

If you choose to supply a gift card, please place in an envelope and attach the angel tree tag.  If you choose to supply gifts, please place all of your unwrapped items in a gift bag and attach the angel tree tag.  The angel tag's numbers are assigned to a specific child.  Without the tag, the team won't know who your purchases are for.

Please bring your items to COS no later than Sunday, December 18 and place under the angel tree.  Early returns are much appreciated.

Petra's Closet is a Project 7 ministry partner who works closely with school personnel in the Grove Public School district to identify and distribute applications. All spots have been filled this year. If you have any questions, please contact the Petra's Closet Ministry Director, Jenean Perryman, at 918-801-5687.

Men's Breakfast
All men are welcome to join the men's holiday breakfast on Saturday, December 10th, from 9 am to 10:30 am. For more information contact Bruce Austin at 918-607-3122.

End of Year Contributions
Thank you for your faithfulness in support of the ministries of COS. As we draw to the end of the year 2022, we wish to remind you of some tax regulations on charitable donations. As a non-profit, religious organization, your contributions are tax deductible (please see your tax advisor for any limits on deductions). To be deductible on your 2022 tax return, your contribution check must be written, dated, and postmarked on or before December 31, 2022. We cannot make exceptions to this regulation. We will hold our books open for the first week of January 2023, so we may issue a 2022 contribution statement for donations written, dated, and postmarked in 2022. Again, thank you for your faithfulness to the ministry of Jesus through COS.

Our office is closed on Fridays

Every year beginning October 1st, Project 7 raises funds for the following year. Since 2012, COS Owners have donated over $256,000 to this ministry and 100% of the money raised is poured back into our community through various ministry partners. Our 2023 goal is to raise $31,000 by December 31st, 2022. As of today we have reached our goal and then some!! $31,575.16 has been donated. To support this ministry about and beyond the goal amount, please write “Project 7” in the memo line of your check or, if giving online, choose the fund “Project 7”.
Tithes & Offerings
You give to the church, but where does it all go? Here is how your tithes and offerings are used at COS: Weekly tithes and unmarked offerings are deposited in the General Fund Account to be used towards operational expenses and other church-sponsored ministry areas. If you would like to contribute above your tithe, COS offers the following giving opportunities.
  • Places & Spaces (Building Fund) - these funds are used for major improvements to the church building or building debt reduction as needed.
  • Benevolence Fund – Our primary focus is people in our church and those living in the cities of Grove and Jay who are struggling to pay their utility bills and have received a cut-off notice. An application process is used, and a committee follows a set of guidelines to determine the amount of assistance to be awarded. It is our desire to be a “hand-up” ministry and work with willing applicants to teach them how to budget their resources so they can thrive instead of just trying to survive.
  • Project 7 - At COS we want to be a part of what Jesus desires for his church. To do this, we partner with agencies to provide love and support for the poor and underprivileged in our community and around the globe. We want to be intentional about meeting the 7 areas of need as outlined in Matthew 25:34-40 and James 1:27
  • Other – On occasion, there may be opportunities to give to a specific area such as our youth department, a local ministry fundraiser, or a community project.
